Why EU-only

Depth over breadth.

We onboard EU-registered merchants only — and that focus is the product. Local acquiring in every EU market through licensed partner institutions, PSD2 and SCA handled natively, settlement in euros the next business day. No issuing, no distractions: one gateway for accepting payments, done properly.

“We switched from a global PSP and our authorization rate went up four points in the first month. The settlement file finally matches the dashboard — to the cent.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who can open a Cardencer account?

Businesses registered in one of the 27 EU member states. We verify company registration, beneficial ownership and a SEPA bank account during onboarding — most merchants are approved and live within days. We do not onboard merchants registered outside the EU.

What does Cardencer cost?

Pricing starts at 1.5% + €0.25 per transaction for cards issued in the EU, and 3.5% + €0.25 for cards issued outside the EU. There are no setup fees, no monthly fees and no minimums — you pay only on successful transactions. High-volume merchants get custom interchange++ pricing.

Which payment methods can I accept?

Visa and Mastercard — consumer, commercial, debit and credit — plus Apple Pay and Google Pay at the same rate as the underlying card. All methods run through the same API and settle together.

Is Cardencer a bank or a payment institution?

No. Cardencer is a technical service provider — a payment gateway. Regulated payment services, acquiring and settlement of funds are performed by our licensed partner payment institutions. You get one integration and one dashboard; the regulated rails underneath are run by authorized institutions.

Does Cardencer offer card issuing?

No. Cardencer is a payment gateway for accepting payments only. We don't issue cards, and we don't plan to — our roadmap is entirely about accepting payments better for EU merchants.

How fast do I get my money?

Settlement is T+1: funds from yesterday's payments arrive in your SEPA bank account the next business day, in euros, with a reconciliation file that matches the dashboard to the cent.

How does Cardencer handle SCA and PSD2?

Natively. Our 3DS2 stack applies exemptions (low-value, TRA, recurring) automatically where risk allows, and steps up only when the issuer requires it — compliance without killing conversion.

How long does integration take?

The hosted payment page takes under an hour. A full API integration with webhooks typically ships in a few days — the sandbox is identical to production, and every account gets a named integration engineer.

Which ecommerce platforms do you support?

Official plugins for WordPress / WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Shopware and OpenCart — install, paste your API key, and start accepting payments. Anything else connects through the REST API or hosted payment page.
